RE: {Spam?} RE: OM Logo

I believe I was wrong with my previous statements about a logo.

What I now recommend is that the logo be two parts, 1) have a title of “OpenMeetings” as text not image, so that the “OpenMeetings” can be in each language, and then 2) have an image which is language independent, for example depicting a meeting, like people around a table, or three people in front of three computer screens?

Thanks,

George Kirkham

“I like with feather a bit more than with text”, I agree.

And would go further and say, drop the feather and the web cam and just have the name OpenMeetings. Technology outdates way too fast to have a picture of any hardware, unless purposely retro.

Thanks,

The good thing about last logo is I can read the project name without knowing it in advance.

I like with feather a bit more than with text.

Or ask Vital if he would be so gentle to make the red written letters bigger.
	@Vital:
Maybe you can just put "Apache" in that red phrase. That should make it shorted and you can make the red words bigger in height.

The current height of "banner" area is ~50px, currently we have 5px border area.

	we can:

	1) decrease the height of main menu (this will increase "banner" area height)

	2) decrease the border (IMHO 0px border is not looking good)

The image on the other logo comes from the free clipart section of Office Online, I suppose you can read their copyright to see if you can use it.

On this last logo above, I’ve put an image taken from http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/wireless-web-camera-max-free/614458 which is completely free (commercial or not) you can also check the copyrights.

Or I’ve found this one : http://www.freeclipartnow.com/electronics-technology/computers/hardware/webcam.jpg.html which is public domain image.

And if none of these image can be used then we still can take a picture of our webcam ourselves (if someone has a nice one).

Can't we invert the blue and white to get rid of the background color?
The webcam symbol, is that something you've drawn or is that picture taken from the www ?
Sorry to be that picky but we need to make sure that the logo is royalty free.

	Nice!
I like the webcam logo most.
But we would need something with transparent background, that might conflict with the mirror effect in the logo2.

	Some ideas:
Would be nice if the word "Apache" or something else could indicate that we are actually an Apache Foundation Project.
Maybe instead of crossing the cable with the letters you could "form" a written word out of the cable?

[SOLVED] Re: Unable to backup openmeeting 1.9

Posted by George Alexandru Dudău <gx...@gmail.com>.
Thank you,

I run this select on db:

select * from rooms_organisation where organisation_id IS NULL or
rooms_id IS NULL;

i have found 6 entries with NULL in organisation_id column and another 4
entries with NULL in rooms_id.
I delete all this entries and the backup works.

Thank you very much for your help,
Geo

ok
i guess you have entries in room_organisations table (openmeetings
database) with NULL organisation_id
lets check it:

mysql -u _your_user -p openmeetings
select * from  room_organisations  where  organisation_id  IS NULL;

is this list return anything?

can you can OM in debug mode (using red5-debug.sh(bat))
And check error log?

One of rooms.xml or users.xml file should be /empty/incomplete and log
should contain exception.
Based on the exception I can try to tell you what need to be changed in the
DB to bypass it.

What DB are you using?

Re: {Spam?} RE: OM Logo

Posted by Maxim Solodovnik <so...@gmail.com>.
1) You need to install 2.1
2) http://incubator.apache.org/openmeetings/WebappNamePath.html *Customize
Openmeetings logo*

please let me know if above info need to be extended. (I use as short
comments as possible :) )

@Sebastian
I believe this page
http://incubator.apache.org/openmeetings/BrandingAndColors.html is
completely outdated
Can I remove it?

RE: {Spam?} RE: OM Logo

Posted by George Kirkham <gk...@co2crc.com.au>.
Thanks for letting me know Maxim,

I know how to change the “OpenMeetings” text logo, but could please you point out to me exactly what needs to be altered to add an icon logo?

Thanks,

George Kirkham

I believe I was wrong with my previous statements about a logo.

What I now recommend is that the logo be two parts, 1) have a title of “OpenMeetings” as text not image, so that the “OpenMeetings” can be in each language, and then 2) have an image which is language independent, for example depicting a meeting, like people around a table, or three people in front of three computer screens?

Thanks,

“I like with feather a bit more than with text”, I agree.

And would go further and say, drop the feather and the web cam and just have the name OpenMeetings. Technology outdates way too fast to have a picture of any hardware, unless purposely retro.

Thanks,

The good thing about last logo is I can read the project name without knowing it in advance.

I like with feather a bit more than with text.

The current height of "banner" area is ~50px, currently we have 5px border area.

	we can:

	1) decrease the height of main menu (this will increase "banner" area height)

	2) decrease the border (IMHO 0px border is not looking good)
