[newbie] How to generate load using jmeter
Hi,
I want to generate load test using jmeter. And I have a few questions:
How can I generate 1 request every 10 seconds in jmeter?
And how long does jmeter wait for each request?
And does jmeter wait for the previous request (what if the response takes >
10 seconds) before sending the next one?
Thank you.

Start again.
Each test plan must be in a separate file.

Thanks. I am able to create 1 test plan. How can I create another one?
I tried 'Add', but I don't see any where which let me add another test plan.
Thank you

Because the samples are unlikely to take the same amount of time each time.
But you can use a Constant Timer if you want; it will work OK if the
individual samples take a negligible amount of time compared with 10
seconds.
Of if the sample times take longer, but vary very little, then you can
adjust the constant timer accordingly.

Thanks, can you please tell me why I should use Constant throughput timer
instead of Constant timer?
would be suitable.

By adding the appropriate timer. In this case the:
http://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/usermanual/component_reference.html#Constant_Throughput_Timer
would be suitable.
If the samples can last longer than 10 seconds, then you will need
multiple threads.
> And how long does jmeter wait for each request?
Until it completes.

Yes.
