There are some things about custom output view providers can be validated and log messages can point out how a develop could fix them.

* helpful error message around registering output_view_providers in setup.py
* validate the display_type
* validate the parameters in the generate_data function
* validate that the generated dict has the expected attributes for the display-type
* validate interactive parameters
