   There are a lot of people often talking about versioning (cc @yousoph @mistercrunch @eschutho)
   
   I think we all want this to happen, but it's a beast. I think we all need to agree/align on how the metadata database works with all of this. The UI should probably largely be framed around Extensions, as a lot of people will have different ideas here.
