[jira] [Commented] (POOL-312) SoftReferenceObjectPool passes soft reference to factory for activation/validation

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/POOL-312?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15342167#comment-15342167 ]

Eduard Martinescu commented on POOL-312:
----------------------------------------

Actually it seems that the objects created by the factory are unwrapped by this pool. This basically kills any benefit of providing a custom pool.

> Instead of passing the underlying object directly, it passes the soft reference wrapped object. This causes problems for factories that are unaware they are being used in this fashion.
