I already had built cocoon so when I got this error, I started over from

Is there a XConfToolTask.java file? Perhaps youi have to build cocoon???

I am not sure about this since it was a while ago and at the time, I had
very little idea about what I was doing - some minor improvement since then.
It seemed to me that the nightly build did not have the anttask classes
in the right place. The stable release did have the anttasks where they
were supposed to be without doing the build.
I hope that this helps

The build process failed initially because there were no
cocoon/tools/anttasks .class files. There were only
cocoon/tools/src/anttask .java files. (I'm doing this from memory, I am
away from my machine until tomorrow. ;-))
Would it help for me to detail what I did beginning with the downloads
of cocoon and lenya? Maybe you could see where I didn't understand. If
so, do you want all that in this list?

the build process should actually fail if no Cocoon source dir exists.
Also within the build.properties the branch of Cocoon 2.1.X is listed,
so I am not sure why you didn't become aware of this. I don't want

Cocoon 2.1 is _only available_ as source, no? Sure enough, if I build
cocoon first, the anttasks class files end up where the lenya build
needs them. So why does the install say not to build cocoon first? How
do you get away with that?
The problem with the JDK parsers is a very old cocoon/tomcat problem. I
liberally sprinkled xalan etc. around various lib/endorsed locations
with no success until I hit lenya/lib/endorsed.

Did you download xalan and put it in all of the endorsed directories? I
am not sure if this is the problem but you need xalan to run with Java
1.5. There is a long somewhat obscure trail of bug reports that you can
follow to find this out.

Yep. ;-) cocoon only comes in source. I have built it successfully
many times.
O.K., I ignored lenya's directions to not build cocoon, and I built it
anyway. Now the tools/src/anttasks get compiled into classes which are
put into tools/anttasks.
Now lenya build runs more than 4 seconds, but fails:

This is not only wrong on Solaris, I noticed it also on other OS.
Anyway the install documentation for 1.4.x need some more tweaking,
as soon I'm more familiar with 1.4.x I'll look at it.

Glad you asked ... ;-) My problem was (
http://lenya.apache.org/1_4/installation/source_version.html ) where it
says:
"In 1.4, the Lenya build process takes care of building Cocoon as well."
That is not quite accurate. You MUST build cocoon first, before
building lenya. The lenya build will fail because the cocoon anttask
.class files do not exist yet.
BUILD FAILED

while executing this line:

After you build cocoon, lenya will build cocoon again ;-).

Just a wild guess. You might have to build Cocoon if you downloaded the
source.
You might try to build it and see if it puts the anttasks in a different
place during the build.
I have not yet tried to build lenya or Cocoon under Linux yet so I am
not sure if there is a difference between the zip packaging and the tar
packaging.

C:\cocoon-2.1.7\tools\anttasks is where the latest release of Cocoon has
the offending task definition.

Do you have the anttasks directory in your classpath?
I did my build under Eclipse under Win2000 which works well and does
make it easy to specify all of the shared libraries required in the
classpath.

Hi Shishir,
There is no way to do this right now in Kupu alone, although I believe
someone is working on getting this squared away. In order to add an
image on your desktop, you have to first go to the Site tab, click on
the page you want to add the image to at the left, then choose the
Assets tab corresponding to that page. From there, you can choose "New
Asset" to upload your image from your desktop. Once complete, you can
go back to the Authoring tab, edit the page with Kupu, then click on
the Image Drawer icon, choose Page Library, and you'll see your photo
there for inclusion into your page.
If you are using Bitflux, this process is already built in.
Hope this helps,
Jon
Adding Image to lenya from PC through Kupu
Posted by sh...@tcs.com.
Hi All
I want to add image, present on my desktop, in Lenya page through Kupu but
I cannot find the button for equivalent process. The current version of
Lenya which I am using is 1.2.3.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Shishir

/export/home/ray/src/lenya/build.xml:49: The following error occurred
while executing this line:
/export/home/ray/src/lenya/src/targets/properties-build.xml:114: taskdef

<taskdef name="xpatch"

Very confusing. All three cocoons I downloaded have tools/src/anttasks,
not tools/anttasks. I changed the taskdef above, but no joy. I'm
guessing it is really looking for the .class file?
Lenya does have tools/anttasks though, and lenya has the classes already
compiled, where the cocoon src dists do not. I'm not supposed to build
cocoon before I build lenya, so where does XConfToolTask.class come
from? Or /tools/anttasks for that matter?

I am not sure if the nightly builds contain everything. Do a find in the
cocoon subtree to be sure that it is there. It was not when I tried it.
I had this problem with the nightly build.
Try taking the cocoon-2.1.7 and make sure that the tools/anttasks is in
the classpath. This seemed to work for me.
Make sure that the xalan jars are in your endorsed directories for Java
and tomcat. (Java 1.5 problem.)
