Xpath extractors in Jmeter

Hi,
    I've got a quick q about xpath extractors in jmeter.  Do they
support functions like fn:starts-with()?

I was trying to do something like this:
/some/path/option[fn:starts-with(@value,'${group}')]/@value

and it's throwing a "TransformerException: Prefix must resolve to a
namespace: fn"
