[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-11890) Uber-JIRA: Hadoop should support IPv6

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-11890?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17375835#comment-17375835 ]

Hemanth Boyina commented on HADOOP-11890:
-----------------------------------------

Yes [~arp],  Earlier while we are working on IPv6 ,we planned to rebase the IPV6 branch(HADOOP-11890) to trunk, but there are many conflicts , so we manually rebased all the IPV6 Jiras to our local trunk and worked out

Now we come with an approach, Under Trunk , Create a new branch for IPV6 and rebase the all Jiras committed on branch HADOOP-11890 to new IPV6 branch

you have any suggestions or any thoughts on this

> Hadoop currently treats IPv6 as unsupported. Track related smaller issues to support IPv6.
> (Current case here is mainly HBase on HDFS, so any suggestions about other test cases/workload are really appreciated.)
