Hahaha. Yeah, that's probably not the best description. I think my brain has
started to take Fridays as a holiday...
I meant it reduce the file-size of the output PDF by re-using cached pages and
their resources if the same page is embedded multiple times within a PDF.

Can you elaborate? The new policy of raising bugs for each change is defeated
if you only add 1 cryptic line to the bug report. By reducing memory of the
PDF, do you mean the size of the PDF? Caches will typically use more JVM heap
rather than less...
