Webmail in cocoon
Hi,
I need to integrate webmail in a cocoon-based site, using the IMAP protocol for
communication. I have looked at the webmail block but it looks somewhat
unmaintained. Is that correct? Has anyone used it commercially?
Or does anyone have a suggestion for some other webmail package that integrates
nicely with cocoon?
Regards,
André Velle

Well thanks a lot ... It is not that I haven't tried ... how about
giving me a hint at where to start. If you are refering to the
installation-documentation on the sample site. I found it more than
useless because it is missing ALL important parts. What do I need a
descriptions of the different parts of the webmail-pages and the
internal structure, if I can't even find it. It sould be part of the
Scratchpad block ... couldn't find anything there. So would you please
be so kind and guide my way sort of like "Go North" instead of "Wrong
Direction" ... Please ... I would realy appreciate real help.

This was not the error I was talking about ... (I think) ... I noticed,
that when communicating with the remote IMAP server an "@" is used as
separator. If an "@" is contained in an Email-Address the system
contacts an invalid hostname and this always failes (what a supprise ;) )

What am I interesting is bind James and Cocoon together.James is using Avalon too,but I can't find any information about embed James in cocoon.I just wonder what a great stuff if Cocoon can embed one mail engine in it's block like HSQL.

This is a thing that I want to do aswell and haven't managed to do it up
till now.
Unfortunately I had so many other things a had to look at first, so this
wasn't my number one priority task.
But as this thread already exists, I would appreciate a howto on how to
install/activate/configure the webmial
stuff cocoon provides.
One thing I habve recognized when trying out the demo site ... I am not
able to test it, if the username vontains an "@". As this is rather
comon when serving several domains on one mailserver, I would like to
know if this can b a problem?

Christofer

There seems to be a bug, the communication with the IMAP-Server looks
good, but there seems to be a problem with the pipline called for
displaying the data.
