Avoid NPEs in the class {{org.apache.logging.log4j.core.config.AbstractConfiguration}} which uses {{ConcurrentHashMap}}s which in turn throws {{NullPointerException}}s for null keys and values. 

I have edge cases where null trickles down into these Log4j APIs.
