Replying to the users of users@subversion.tigris.org
Hello,
Apologise if this message is inappropriate.
I noticed that simply replying to a message in this mailing list
doesn't actually send the reply to the subversion mailing list, but
only to the user who originally posted the message.
Is this a behaviour that occurs only to me? Or is a custom use of this
list to hit the "reply all" to send back the responses to the public
list as well?
This would be different from all the lists I subscribed before. And it
requires the user remembers to hit the correct button. Which hardly
happens if you are used to send/receive many email messages.
thanks

The list is set not to modify the email headers (especially not the reply-to
headers), so if you set the list as "cc", it will be "cc" in the reply (if
you remember to press the proper button). There are pros and cons of doing
it either way, the reasons have been discussed on this list a couple of
times. There might even be an faq entry, but the subversion.tigris.org site
seems to have some sort of a server problem right now.

I think: "Leave it as it is, the list maintainers decided what they think is
best."

I see that you sent back the answer to me only, that means that you
hit the 'reply' and not the 'reply all'. Did you do it intentionally?
I follow-up to the list if you don't mind
...so this means that this mailing list is CONFIGURED to set the
users@subversion.tigris.org as a Cc. This sounds awkward: should not
be the mailnig list address configured as the user only need to simply
hit the 'reply' button? I receive many email messages every day, as
you do I suppose, and I don't rememeber to use the 'reply all' when
needed.
What do you think?
