   ## Goal
   
   Ensure that the total event count in the dataset metrics view works correctly for data streams that contain array fields.

   ## Description
   
   When a data stream contains an array, the **Total events** value in the dataset metrics view is incorrect.
   
   Example event:
   
   ```json
   {
     "array": [
       0,
       1,
       2
     ],
     "timestamp": 1788358663430
   }
   ```
   
   As shown in the screenshot, events are available and visible in the 7-day chart, but the **Total events** value is displayed as `0`.
