[jira] [Resolved] (RAT-206) Add support for Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 and Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 licenses

Philipp Ottlinger resolved RAT-206.
-----------------------------------
       Resolution: Won't Fix
    Fix Version/s: (was: 0.12)

Following the discussions on legal-discuss@ the problem is that CC-licenses are not really fitting for source code files.

In order for RAT to verify license compliance you can add the CC-headers manually and add this CC-license as a default license to your RAT plugin configuration. Otherwise you may exclude the CC-licensed documentation files from the RAT.

Therefore I close the ticket as won't fix.

If you need help how to add new licenses have a look at examples: https://github.com/ottlinger/creadur-rat-examples/tree/master/RAT-179/maven

> It would be very nice if support for the "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5" and "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0" licenses could be added to Rat.
> Background: The documentation of the incubating Groovy Project is licensed under "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0" and according to: [https://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html#cc-sa] this is o.k. but, Rat does not seem to recognize the license.
