Build failure in helloworld-bpel sample
I did a recent svn update and rebuild and I'm seeing the following test
error from the helloworld-bpel sample. Are other people seeing this?
Any ideas?

I backed out this change and I also backed out commit r663685
from yesterday. With these two changes, both the sample and
the itest build cleanly.

It fixed the problem for me but now itest/bpel fails. It didn't before this
latest patch so it seems that it is expecting the extra layer of data
wrapping for some reason.

I have committed a fix (or at least a workaround) for this build
break problem. The revision number is r663938.
I debugged the problem and it is caused by the BPELInvoker returning
an XML element for a part:
<TestPart><hello xmlns="http://tuscany.apache.org/implementation/bpel/example/helloworld.wsdl">
<message>Hello World</message></hello></TestPart>
instead of returning an XML element for the wrapper inside the part:
<hello xmlns="http://tuscany.apache.org/implementation/bpel/example/helloworld.wsdl">
<message>Hello World</message></hello>
I modified the BPELInvoker to return the part's child element instead
of the part itself.
To avoid problems like this in future, please can folks run all the
samples and itests before doing a commit, to ensure their code change
doesn't cause problems for others. Thanks.

Yes, we do try to keep the tests passing. On the rare occasions where a
change breaks a test for some reason, and the problem can't be resolved
at the time the change is checked in, we would disable the test so
that a full build can still run cleanly, and post to the list or open
a JIRA to alert others to the issue.

I guess that would be me as the fix I did outlined another issue (as
described in the thread Luciano pointed at). So you guys expect to always
have all the tests passing on trunk all the time?

Re: Build failure in helloworld-bpel sample
Posted by Mike Edwards <mi...@gmail.com>.
Simon,
I did an SVN update and build of Tuscany earlier this afternoon and I did not see this failure.
The code currently checked in to the Tuscany SVN was fixed up to avoid the error listed by Luciano
and certainly seems to work for me.
Is anyone else seeing the same problem that Simon is getting?
Yours, Mike.

Thakns. I saw this and I agree it could be related, but the error
message is different. I was getting the "null local part" message
from an earlier checkout, but my recent update changed the symptoms
to this new message.
