> This is an easy one.  The maxlength attribute already exists for the s:textfield tag (which directly corresponds to the maxlength attribute of the HTML input tag).  A bit of javascript can easily place a character limit on an HTML textarea element, and this could be controlled by adding an attribute to the s:textarea tag.
