Note the process for building the current site is here:

Yes, it's long, but it does a great job of combining static
content, with dynamic Maven content (e.g., the API docs). I would
strongly urge you guys to understand the way that the current website

We do!

Check 'em out at: http://oodt.apache.org/components/maven/apidocs/

To publish the current website, we take the Maven artifacts and run them through XDV to transform them to the OODT style. Those get combined with the static artifacts (welcome page and the like) to make a complete website.

For the revamped website, we'll need to decide if we want to continue to publish the Maven-generated artifacts.
