Signed SOAP messages

Hello all :

Does AXIS provide any means to produce signed messages?

If not, what in your opnions is the best tool/product/open source utility to
produce signed SOAP messages?

Thank you,

Suteertha

Looks like you are on the right track. See "Service Styles - RPC,
Document, Wrapped, and Message" at
http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/user-guide.html

Message Style

Hi All,

We already have an XML Document with us. I am currently using Axis and
this is one of the services for which I need to just plug-in my XML
instead of passing it to the Axis Serializer. I searched on the net and
found something called "message" style. Can somebody tell me if this is
right and if they can point me to some sample programs, it will be
helpful.

Thanks,
Hrishikesh.

Hi,

Just a follow-up on this question. If the axis uses HTTP/SSL, then is
there a need to sign SOAP messages ?

thanks,
Parag

Hi!

Apache Axis ships with a sample SignedSOAPEnvelope for signing messages. This is almost a "decorator" just for signing the original message.

The arch. I defined on using this approach is to add a Handler able to Sign and one for verify the signature.

Get the latest version from CVS (wich I submitted the Patch) of the SignedSOAPEnvelope because there were a bug in the older versions where the body of the message was not signed. The API used for signing is the Apache XML Security Suite (xml.apache.org).

In case of problems, get in touch!
