What does "-T 1.2" mean in Java2WSDL and WSDL2Java?

Appreciate if someone could explain what "-T 1.2" really means in Java2WSDL and WSDL2Java.

It appears only affecting certain Java and WSDL mapping. Is there a list of different mappings somewhere?

It doesn't seems to me changing anything on the protocol, i.e. SOAP 1.1 or SOAP1.2. Is this true?

Thanks.
