Re: Infra Roundtable presentation?
Hi Andrew,
Sorry for the slow reply, and thank you for asking the list rather than me
directly — that was the right instinct and I'd like to make it work.
There's a snag worth naming though. 1700 UTC on a Wednesday is 3am for
Justin, 2am in Korea, 1am in China, and 10:30pm in India. That's most of our
active contributors outside Europe. It's comfortable only for Europe and the
Americas — which, at the moment, mostly means me. So "someone other than
Jarek" and "1700 UTC" is somewhat difficult.
Two questions, then:
- Is the roundtable time fixed, or is there any room for an APAC-friendly
slot? If there is, the pool of people who could present gets a lot bigger.
- If we can't fix it, November 4 is the more realistic target than September 1
- Also I am quite sure we will have Magpie at the workshops at Community
Over Code in Glasgow - I will make sure to make it happens.
I'm at Community Over Code Asia next week giving a Magpie talk and running
some hands-on sessions, so I'll have a much better sense afterwards of who
is both interested and able. Not revealing too much - but we might soon have
even more potential people to chime in.
If nobody suitable emerges and the slot would otherwise go unused, I could take
November 4 myself — but I'd rather spend the next few weeks finding someone
else first, which is what you were asking for in the first place.
J.
