How to write nicer integration tests for JSON?

Hello any readers passionate about clean type safe Java APIs,

Would you perhaps like to chime in with ideas how to write nicer
integration tests for JSON in
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-949 ?

I'm thinking if some of us can look into and find some nicer way than what
we use today, actually changing all existing code this could possibly be
something for a GSOC intern to work on...
