Delete old SVN repo for website
Our project page <https://projects.apache.org/committee.html?spark> lists a repo under the name “spark-svn": https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/spark/
It seems to be a very old version of the website. It hasn’t been updated since 2016, which is when we cut over to apache/spark-website <https://github.com/apache/spark-website>. It doesn’t contain anything else, and it’s not related to the SVN repo Apache uses for distributions.
I would like to file an INFRA ticket to have this spark-svn repo deleted. It’s confusing to have it live alongside the current git repo for the website.
Any concerns before I file that ticket? I think I’ll need at least one PMC member to chime in here. I assume ASF Infra will ask for that.

Seems like a good idea. Thanks for driving cleanups like this.

Checking in again here.
Can I get a PMC member to sign off on deleting the repo located at https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/spark/? I will take care of filing the appropriate INFRA ticket.
I’m also happy to perform whatever additional checks are needed to reassure everyone that we are not losing anything. As far as I can tell, this repo is completely subsumed by apache/spark-website.

Yes, it looks like the history was imported. If I inspect the oldest 5 commits across both repos, they look the same.

Hi,
+1 (non-binding) from me here, because I think it's overall a nice idea to clean this up, especially given that that the old repo contains only the pre 2016 Jekyll website source.
I'm just unsure whether it's better to archive (attic / read-only) or delete as you proposed here. I guess it's fine to delete since history is already carried over to spark-website?
In any case, PMC should definitely chime in here regarding next steps. Thank you for the proposal Nick!
Best,
Uroš
