How to execute .xml file with cocoon

Hi !!!
I have install cocoon on my machine and i'm trying to run the .xml file
but every time it give me the following error 
                 type="text/html" 

I'm unable to figure it out.  Can anybody help me in the matter.

follow the installation instructions properly....
also
the .xml extension has to be mapped to the cocoon servlet...make sure u do
it as in the instructions.

The error means that your request is not being passed to the cocoon
processor.

Check your server and cocoon configuration
