Would like to contribute to OpenNLP

Hi all,

I would like to contribute to OpenNLP project, but I don't know where to
start. I am hoping to work on
OPENNLP-712 <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OPENNLP-712> issue,
however I need guidance. This will be my bachelor of science thesis.

Please tell me how to proceed.
