Hi [~asanjar] : The patch you are mentioning is only the tip of the iceberg. I looked into HADOOP-11090 . There are a couple of other issues unresolved with respect to support JDK-8.
I think we have to leave Fedora 22 and later out for now, because of missing support for JDK-8 from the hadoop side and missing support for JDK-7 from the Fedora side. I am feeling rather uneasy to require the now unsupported Oracle JDK 7 on Fedora.
Ok to move Fedora22 support to Bigtop-1.3 with Hadoop 2.8.x supporting JDK-8 ?
