[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-11890) Uber-JIRA: Hadoop should support IPv6

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-11890?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15749542#comment-15749542 ]

Konstantin Shvachko commented on HADOOP-11890:
----------------------------------------------

We had an informal discussion of the state of this feature with FB HBase team, including [~ghelmling] and [~mantonov], who merged this branch internally and run production HBase clusters on top of it with IPv6 on. Thanks for the insights, guys.
It looks like there are only two things missing to get it committed
# The documentation update to incorporate IPv6 cluster setup. See HADOOP-13902.
# And the test plan document, so that people could independently test according to the plan.

Is there anything else missing?

> Hadoop currently treats IPv6 as unsupported. Track related smaller issues to support IPv6.
> (Current case here is mainly HBase on HDFS, so any suggestions about other test cases/workload are really appreciated.)
