Dear Tom and Heartbeat community,
Congratulations on the remarkable growth and achievements of Apache HertzBeat during its incubation period! It’s truly inspiring to see the project grows so rapidly, and to witness the consistent release cadence and solid governance practices.
From the details you’ve shared, it’s evident that HertzBeat has met many key criteria for TLP graduation. The clear contributor-to-committer process, strict adherence to "The Apache Way", and successful integration with other ASF projects demonstrate maturity. The regular releases and diverse contributions across code, docs, and testing further underscore its readiness.
However, before officially moving towards graduation, I’d suggest ensuring all aspects of the Apache TLP graduation requirements are thoroughly reviewed. This could include double-checking community diversity metrics, ensuring sufficient global participation, and confirming that any outstanding technical debt or process improvements are addressed.
I wholeheartedly support HertzBeat’s journey towards TLP status and am happy to contribute further feedback or assistance. Let’s collaborate closely to make this graduation a smooth and successful milestone for the project!
Best wishes,
Hongyu Liu

Hello Tom and HertzBeat Community,
I wholeheartedly support Apache HertzBeat's promotion to a Top-Level Project (TLP). Since HertzBeat joined the Apache Incubator in April 2024, we have been dedicated to making it better. Having witnessed the project's evolution during the incubation period, I am convinced that we have met all the criteria for this crucial milestone. Currently, HertzBeat has demonstrated the following characteristics:
**Growth and Diversity**: More than 271 contributors, 9 dedicated committers, and 13 PPMC members form a thriving ecosystem. Recent additions of committers (e.g., Lixin Diao, Kang Li) and PPMC members (e.g., Tianyou Liu, Shenghang Zhang) confirm our sustainable development.
**Active Engagement**: Sustained GitHub issue/PR activities and monthly community meetings attract new contributors, reflecting its organic vitality.
**Excellent Release Management**: Four successful releases (from 1.6.0 to 1.7.1-incubating) have been delivered since incubation, with 1.7.2-incubating currently under voting. Multiple release managers have demonstrated proficiency in ASF processes.
**Rigorous Governance System**: The documented contributor-to-committer promotion mechanism and transparent merit-based decision-making fully embody Apache's values.
**Platform Value**: As an agentless real-time monitoring solution, HertzBeat provides clear value with its stable architecture and growing adoption.
**Integration with Apache Principles**: Verified during the incubation period, the project's seamless collaboration with ASF projects (e.g., Arrow, Maven) and adherence to the "Community Over Code" principle have been fully demonstrated.
The endorsement from mentors (reference materials) highlights our readiness.
HertzBeat's technical advantages, community health, and operational discipline position it to excel as a TLP. I call on the community to advance the graduation process.
Deep gratitude to mentors Yonglun Zhang, Yu Xiao, Justin McLean, Francis Chuang, PJ Fanning, Tom, and all community members! Thank you to every contributor who has shaped this journey!
Best Wishes,

Dear Tom and Heartbeat community,
This is excellent news! Based on your comprehensive update, my answer to "Do you think we're ready to graduate as a TLP?" is a resounding YES!
Strong Case for Graduation
The information you've provided clearly indicates that HertzBeat has not only excelled within the Apache Incubator but has also fully met and surpassed the criteria for becoming a Top-Level Project (TLP). The project's active and growing community, robust development and release cadence, and strict adherence to the Apache Way all form a powerful foundation for its graduation.
My Personal Experience as a Contributor
As a contributor, I can personally attest to the vibrancy and inclusivity of the Apache HertzBeat (incubating) community. My journey began in March with my first Pull Request, and it was immediately apparent what an exceptional open-source project this is. I distinctly recall collaborating with users on issues, testing solutions, and quickly receiving feedback on my PRs. This immediate and positive response solidified my commitment to the community.
Before HertzBeat, my understanding of open source was limited, and the Apache Foundation was merely a name to me. Through my involvement, I've gained invaluable insights into what open source truly means and the profound principles of the "Apache Way." I've been deeply impressed and inspired by this philosophy.
Today, I genuinely enjoy participating in community discussions and have learned a great deal about fostering project growth. My personal journey and the knowledge I've gained directly attest to the positive impact and healthy development of the HertzBeat community.
Considering all these factors, I believe Apache HertzBeat (incubating) is not only ready but also fully deserving of TLP status. The project's technical achievements, community strength, and adherence to Apache principles provide a compelling case for graduation.

Hello Tom and HertzBeat Community,
Thanks for initiating this graduation discussion.
Over the past months, I’ve been following the project’s progress and I’m impressed by the steady community growth, increasing contributor diversity, and overall engagement. It’s clear that the project is operating in line with the Apache Way – with open discussions, transparent decision-making, and healthy participation from both committers and new contributors.
The project has also demonstrated strong release discipline, with multiple successful releases and properly followed procedures. The PMC is functioning effectively, showing ownership and responsibility for the direction of the project.
From both a community and technical standpoint, I believe the project has reached a level of maturity appropriate for graduation. I’m confident the team is ready to manage the responsibilities of a top-level project.

Dear Tom and the Apache HertzBeat Community,
I am delighted to witness the significant progress and achievements Apache HertzBeat has made during its incubation period. The project has fostered an open, friendly, and active community, attracting over 270 contributors, 9 Committers, and 13 PPMC members.
During incubation, HertzBeat delivered three high-quality releases (1.6.0, 1.7.0, and 1.7.1), with the 1.7.2 release currently undergoing voting.
I believe HertzBeat has fully met the maturity criteria required for incubation. This is demonstrated by:
* Strong community diversity (270+ contributors)
* Resilient governance processes, demonstrated by regular meetings and structured voting,
* A tangible implementation of the Apache Way
Collectively, these elements confirm the project's capability for independent operation.
As a deeply involved participant, I have observed the community consistently prioritizing the core principle of "Community Over Code"—the very essence of Apache Top-Level Projects (TLP).
Therefore, I wholeheartedly and firmly support HertzBeat's graduation as a TLP, and eagerly anticipate its leadership in driving sustained innovation within the area of open-source monitoring at the TLP stage.
Best wishes,
Tianyou Liu

Re: [DISCUSS] Graduate Apache HertzBeat (Incubating) from the Apache Incubator to a Top-Level Project
Posted by Qingran Zhao <zh...@apache.org>.
Hello Tom and HertzBeat Community,
I fully support the graduation of Apache HertzBeat to become a Top-Level Project (TLP). After reviewing the community's progress and achievements, I believe we are indeed ready for this important milestone.
The evidence speaks for itself:
**Strong Community Foundation**: With 271+ contributors, 9 committed committers, and 13 PPMC members, we have built a robust and diverse community. The recent additions of new PPMC members and committers demonstrate our healthy growth and active contributor pipeline.
**Proven Release Management**: Our community has successfully delivered 4 releases since entering incubation, with multiple release managers who are well-versed in Apache processes. This demonstrates our operational maturity and ability to maintain consistent delivery cycles.
**Active Community Engagement**: The high level of activity on GitHub issues and pull requests, combined with our monthly community meetings that attract newcomers interested in the project, shows a vibrant and growing ecosystem. This organic growth is a strong indicator of project health.
**Apache Way Adoption**: Most importantly, we have embraced The Apache Way in our community interactions and governance. Our documented contributor-to-committer process and commitment to transparent, merit-based decision-making align perfectly with Apache's values.
**Technical Maturity**: HertzBeat has established itself as a valuable monitoring and observability platform with a clear value proposition, stable architecture, and growing user base.
The combination of technical excellence, community vitality, operational competence, and cultural alignment with Apache principles makes a compelling case for graduation. I'm confident that HertzBeat will continue to thrive as a TLP and contribute meaningfully to the broader Apache ecosystem.
Thank you to all mentors, committers, PPMC members, and contributors who have made this journey possible. Let's move forward with the graduation process!
Best regards,
Logic

I also fully support HertzBeat's graduation to a TLP. The project has
on-boarded a lot of new committers and PMC members since inception and
the community has been very active and helpful.
The release process has been smooth and I have seen many different
committers taking on the role of release manager, which is very
inclusive and encouraging.
HertzBeat is in a very good position to graduate as a TLP and I fully
support this move.

Posted by Qiwei Zheng <zh...@apache.org>.
Dear Tom and Hertzbeat Community,
As an Apache HertzBeat Committer, I completely support for its promotion to an Apache Top-Level Project (TLP). Apache HertzBeat, our easy-to-use, open source, real-time monitoring system, has shown remarkable growth and maturity within the Apache Incubator.
It's ready for TLP status for these key reasons:
Strong Community & Active Development: HertzBeat boasts a vibrant, growing community and consistent progress With 271+ contributors, 9 committed committers, and 13 PPMC members. We have built a robust and diverse community.
Technical Maturity: The project is a stable, robust observability platform. We've integrated mature and widely used technology in it and its code robustness is growing steadily.
Adherence to "The Apache Way": We've fully embraced Apache's open, transparent, and meritocratic principles.
Promoting Apache HertzBeat as an Apache Top-Level Project (TLP) will give it the autonomy needed to thrive, attract more contributors, and solidify its place as a leading open-source monitoring solution.
Best regards,
Calvin
