Board report for september 2008

We have to submit a board report this week. Can someone draft a proposal?

 - we've finalized migration from sf.net to apache
 - commits are coming in
 - issue tracker is being used
 - first release tries to go through the incubator

community aspects...

RE: Board report and next steps

Hi Martijn,

sorry for not replying to your e-mail. I wasn't quire sure what to write.

I have updated the buildRelease ant scripts to address all licensing issues that Thomas found. In Detail the following has changed (all with JIRA task EMPIREDB-9)

- servlet-api.jar and and jsp-api.jar will be excluded from the release. Instead there will be a text-file (libinfo.txt) that informs the user that these jars are required to build the release.

- A reference to freemarker has been added to the notice.txt file (HSQLDB too).

- The required jars for the DBWebSample example have been removed from the WEB-INF directory. There will be a shell script (copy_jars.bat and copy_jars.sh) which copies the files from the ./lib folder so that they are only contained once.

- The ant build scripts have been moved from the src to the root directory (Martijn's request)

Issue 1 to 3 only affect the empire-struts2-ext release. The last one affects empire-db as well.

As far as I know Jörg is addressing the md5 and sha issue.

I think we should make a new "first incubator release" attempt.

Has anyone got anything else that we should address with this release?
