top level root pom needed
I'm thinking we need a geronimo top level root pom so the g-
subprojects (devtools) can inherit from iy. Theres too much duplicate
information between the devtools root pom and the server root pom.
Would it make sense to push some of the common elements up into
another POM?

I'd be happy to read others' comments since I can't see much value
doing it. Altough they share some stuff, they're independent and once
copied the shared information won't likely change in the near future.

Well not so much the project build specific pieces. I'm thinking more
about the general elements that most likely would have to be
duplicated. So far the common elements devtools share are...
<mailingLists>
<licenses>
<scm>
<organization>
<distributionManagement>
<repositories>
<pluginRepositories>
and there could be more to come. These I think could be shared
geronimo-wide, perhaps even some properties as well.

My initial though is that these projects are distinct and they don't
share much as far as the build's concerned, actually. Perhaps, I don't
see it since I don't work with devtools that much. Could you propose
how it could work?
