StringUtils.replaceBRbyLF()
this method does not seem to be used anywhere and I don't see the link
with empire-db, can I remove it?

I'm just reviewing the code a bit to get a proper view on empire-db, I
might be asking some more questions like this if I'm not sure...

if it's not being used it can be removed (and IMO even should be).
