I tweaked my dependency to:

    <dependency>
      <groupId>org.apache.sshd</groupId>
      <artifactId>sshd-core</artifactId>
      <version>0.9.0</version>
    </dependency>

and Maven started working normally once more.

Feel free to close this.

Could we list the correct Maven dependency snippet in our online documentation?
