As indicated on comment 3, the right spelling is "carácter", with the diacritic
on top of the second a, so I'm closing this as "not a bug".
NOTE: the Real Academia Española dictionary changed its urls. See here:
http://lema.rae.es/drae/?val=caracter
There you can read that "The word caracter is not registered on the dictionary"
(La palabra caracter no está registrada en el Diccionario) and that "carácter"
is suggested instead.
