Hi All,
I am new to ServiceMix, I am not able to find complete steps to write a
sample program for file component.
Could you please provide me the complete steps to write a sample
program?
Actually, I need to read a text file and reverse its contents.
I am referring to the below link:
http://servicemix.apache.org/servicemix-file.html
But not able to understand it.
Can anyone provide me exact steps to write "any simple ServiceMix
example"? As I am struggling even to write a hello world program.
Please help me to start servicemix....
Thanking you,
Yogesh

hi,
it ain't possible
i m in a meeting for whole afternoon
i'd rather you start example on your own than me sending sample with
detailed instrucitons on how to install
se/su/sa, where to install etc...
if either of us misundestand other instructions we'll be exchanging mail
on which step do to etc ,w hich is time consuming
please please please.
read / run tutorials
read servicemix docs
try / fail / re-try / fail again / retry again
once u understand how it works, it'll bestraightforward for you to do
whatever component you want to do
believe me, i speak for personal experience. i spent a week reading docs.
then i tried out tutorials. took me 7 days to
figure out how to have poller send data to my custom sevices.... went thru
errors and errors. and at the end i got it.
and now everything looks so easy and straightforward..

hiya,
ok. here's quick info
that tutorial creates a service unit where you'll get a file:poller and
a file:sender . hte poller polls a directory looking for files, and when
it finds them it sends it to the poller which writes them in another
directory.
That by itself is a sample program, using components (file:poller and
file:sender) that servicemix provideso ut of the box
If you want to read a text file and reverse its content, this file
poller/sender is a good start (at least to understad what's going on,
having a service - poller - that sends a message containing a file to
another service - sender - , that's the basic idea)
it looks to me like you have to do a similar thing, but instead of
sending message to a file:sender you'll need to send it to your custom
service engine, which will receive a message (from poller) containing
the file.
now, i know this explanation is too short..... and if you have just
started (i mean, started few days ago... i m a starter too, i have spent
last 2 weeks trying to figure out how to combine file:poller with my
custom services) u might get confused.,,
my suggestion? try first every tutorial here
http://servicemix.apache.org/tutorials.html
have them working, and then add your custom functionality.
have a look at 2.Beginnerl the file poller/sender/. once u got it
working , replace sender with your own ServiceEngine
post here if you have troubles....

hiya,
ok. here's quick info
that tutorial creates a service unit where you'll get a file:poller and
a file:sender . hte poller polls a directory looking for files, and when
it finds them it sends it to the poller which writes them in another
