Render JSON as Grails 8 did with grails.converters.json.legacy
A transition to the Jackson rendering, deprecated for removal in Grails 10.
With grails.converters.json.legacy: true, the JSON converter registers the
marshallers of Grails 8 instead of the JsonMapper value marshallers, indents
pretty printed JSON as Grails 8 did, both when rendering with
grails.converters.json.pretty.print and from toString(true), and the domain
class Jackson module is not registered with the application's JsonMapper. A
warning is logged on startup.
Grails8JsonRenderingSpec compares the legacy output with text rendered by
Grails 8.0.x (232bb34006) for 111 values and both pretty print paths. Comparing
that text with the Jackson rendering showed that Grails 8 already rendered
records as an object of their components, so the upgrade guide no longer lists
records as changed. The guide states that parsing is unchanged, and shows the
per-type marshallers that keep a Grails 8 format.
