[jira] Updated: (AXIS2-2197) axis2-.jar on published M2 repo [http://people.apache.org/repo/m2-snapshot-repository]

Saminda Wishwajith Abeyruwan updated AXIS2-2197:
------------------------------------------------

    Attachment: diff.txt

The current Maven2 build of Axis2 dose not create the axis2-<version>.jar artifact. There was a discussion in past what should be included in Axis2.jar. With that in mind I would propose the following way to build the axis2-<version>.jar out of Maven2 build.

Axis2-<version>.jar contains following classes from the given maven modules.
java2wsdl,kernel,tool,saaj,addressing,codegen,adb,adb-codegen, and xmlbeans . {based on Maven1 maven.xml lines [353-366]}. Default will be for Java 1.4 version.

> Since Axis2 has many modules {one-to-one artifacts}, when using Axis2 in client side or some other applications, having dependencies to individual artifacts is kind of a cumbersome IMHO. Thus, having a single axis2-<version>.jar; would be a good solution. When we looked in to the published repo, [ http://people.apache.org/repo/m2-snapshot-repository/org/apache/axis2/axis2/], there is a location to obtain this artifact. But the problem is, it does not contain the jar artifact itself. Since there is no other place to look for this artifact, IMHO this should exist here.
