[jira] Closed: (UIMA-2) Fix licensing issues with Eclipse plugins
[ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-2?page=all ]
Marshall Schor closed UIMA-2.
-----------------------------
Resolution: Fixed
Eclipse modules that were derivative works of Eclipse source have been removed. The functionality was simplified (previous design was an over-design) for resource picking, and for content assist, it was re-written to take advantage of new APIs in 3.2 Eclipse. For 3.1 Eclipse, it will still run, but with only a browse capability, not a content-assist capability.

> Some files in the Eclipse plugins are licensed under the EPL. These should be either removed (for instance, kept on SourceForge, with the packaging changed so that Apache gets & distributes binary-only versions of these files), or rewritten to no longer be derivative works. The latter is the better course, and probably can be done with some small redesign (TBD).
