[jira] Created: (UIMA-1682) Notify the user if the language in the CAS is set to "x" and the SnowballAnnotator won't work properly.

Notify the user if the language in the CAS is set to "x" and the SnowballAnnotator won't work properly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: UIMA-1682
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/UIMA-1682
             Project: UIMA
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Sandbox-SnowballAnnotator
    Affects Versions: 2.2.2
            Reporter: Marc Hofer
            Priority: Trivial

If you don't use debugging tools such as the CVD, the language of the CAS is per default set to "x". In this case the SnowballAnnotator won't work. It would be nice to notify the user, that the language isn't set properly.

Thilo Goetz commented on UIMA-1682:
-----------------------------------

Another issue seems to me that the descriptor specifies x-unspecified as supported language. That doesn't seem right to me, as it really only supports a finite set of languages.
