Freshmeat page is still not updated

E.g. it points to version 1.1:

Well any commiters can act as release manager.

I don't have time right now, and delaying xml-rpc 2.0.1 is not a good idea.

You're welcome

Well, I remember that post. And the reason for me making an official request was
because of this reply from Henri when I contacted him:

"Well I didn't officially agreed on being Release Manager.

Could you post the release request on dev list ?"

Anyway, there is not much more I can do I guess.

Requests for 2.0.1 release

Hi,

I've been asked to do an official request for the 2.0.1 release, so here it is
:)

Jimisola

No. The 2.0 branch is the current production branch, out of which we
should be able to create a 2.0.1 or 2.1 release at any time. The
currrent HEAD is the official development branch. The streaming branch
and the HEAD are completely unrelated. If the community decides to
promote the former at any time, then it could become the new HEAD.

Henri has recently proposed a version 2.0.1. The only reply was mine:
"Very well, if you do the release."

Great.

I assume that the 2.0 branch is your "streaming branch" (prefer to see it as
3.0-dev) and HEAD is 2.0..?
Any plans on when the next release will be of 2.0 will be? How much is left on
2.0-streaming before beta stage?

Jimisola

Looking into the test class for CommonsXmlRpcTransport, I see that it is
indeed not as easy to use the transport. Thus, an additional factory
seems worth, and I added a slightly modified version of your patch to
the 2.0 branch and the HEAD.

I posted it in this group earlier.

Date: October 20 2005 14:28 CET
Subject: [PATCH]Patches and additions to make HttpClient work with Apache
XML-RPC

The only interesting addition is the
CommonsHttpClientXmlRpcTransportFactory.java, since Henri Gomez already has
submitted the same patch for CommonsXmlRpcTransport as I did.

Jimisola

PS. Both files are attached here again. DS.

Can you point me to the patch?

Re: Freshmeat page is still not updated

I got two notification from freshmeat. Thanks.

Jochen, nice work on the streaming branch.

I made a patch of a factory class for CommonHttpClient before, but it has
not been picked up yet.
Any reason why? Having a factory class means that one can use the regular
XmlRpcClient.

Thanks for the hint. It took me some time to get the required
privileges, but tomorrow you should see a new announcement.
