[jira] Resolved: (AXIS-1774) UTFDataFormatException on loading server-config.wsdd
[ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS-1774?page=history ]
Toshiyuki Kimura resolved AXIS-1774:
------------------------------------
Resolution: Duplicate
Fix Version: current (nightly)
Hi dims,
I've tracked on this matter, but the problem has gone with a
commit of you, dims. You said "i have no idea how to start
fixing this one." though ... :)
http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS-1694
The nightly build save 'server-config.wsdd' as UTF-8 correctly.
Thanks,
Toshi <to...@apache.org>
> UTFDataFormatException on loading server-config.wsdd

> Key: AXIS-1774
> URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS-1774
> Project: Axis
> Type: Bug
> Components: Basic Architecture
> Versions: current (nightly)
> Environment: w/ an AP server which is installed on non-ASCII folder.
> Reporter: Toshiyuki Kimura
> Priority: Minor
> Fix For: current (nightly)
>
> The followings are the scenario of the UTFDataFormatException:
> 1. The reporter installed TOMCAT to a folder which included
> non-ASCII charactors.
> 2. The folder name was used in axis/WEB-INF/server-config.wsdd
> to specify "attachments.Directory".
> 3. The file indicated its encoding type as "UTF-8" in the top
> of the file - '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>'.
> 4. But, the *real* encoding of the file was not UTF-8.
> After (re)saving the file as UTF-8 by using notepad, the boot
> error (java.io.UTFDataFormatException) has solved.
> But, after that, he still has faced a number of class loading
> problems. So, he reinstalled TOMCAT and Axis to an ASCII-based
> folder. Finally, he could work with Axis.
