Auto Deploy Features whenever any change in the bundles
Hi - i have few bundles installing them as a feature in SMX. I have added the
feature repo and feature name in the file "org.apache.karaf.features.cfg" to
install whenever the smx starts or restarts rather installing my feature
manually.. working absolutely fine.
But i am looking to automate the deployment of features whenever any change
available in my bundles.. Can some one please let me know how can i
automate my feature deployment.
I would Appreciate your help.

AFAIK, no, this doesn't work for feature.
Anyway, you can create a KARAF improvement jira ticket and VOTE there.

Hello Freeman,
Thanks for the Response. small question -> Does the dev:watch works for
features?
i am aware that it works for bundles but i am not sure about the feature.
also if my feature has 100 bundles certainly i cannot give the 100 id's or
100 url's to watch right.
So if you have any viable options it would be really nice to know..
Thanks in advance,
Jay

Hi,
There's a dev:watch to monitor the snapshot bundles and reload it when it changes, see below for the details
dev:watch --help
DESCRIPTION
dev:watch
Watches and updates bundles.
SYNTAX
dev:watch [options] [urls]
ARGUMENTS
urls
The bundle IDs or URLs
OPTIONS
--stop
Stops watching all bundles
-i
Watch interval
--list
Displays the watch list
--help
Display this help message
--remove
Removes bundles from the watch list
--start
Starts watching the selected bundles
DETAILS
The watch command can be used to help at developement time. It allows you to configure a set of URLs that will be
monitored. All bundles location matching the given URL will be automatically updated. This avoids the need for
manually updating the bundles or even copying the bundle to the system folder if needed. Note that only maven based
urls and maven snapshots will actually be updated automatically, so if you run
> dev:watch *
It will actually monitor all bundles that have a location matching mvn:* that have '-SNAPSHOT' in their url.
