Apparently there is an HDP specific incompatibility between HDP 2.2 and Phoenix 4.3 wrt local indexing. Calls to RegionServerService.getCatalogTracker() may be the culprit as the HDP release has a different method signature than the open source HBase releases. See http://s.apache.org/zyS for details, as this can lead to a data corruption issue.
