Hi Adam,

For import take a look at http://wiki.apache.org/lenya/HowToContentImport

There is a great script in this howto for importing docs/assets.

1.4 has limited (can only import documents that already exist) webDav 
support.  Take a look at 
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=34994

To export, you can access the filesystem directly, make some additions 
to your sitemap to access the content, use webDAV
