doubts on onMessageExchange

Hello 
I'll be very greatful if somobody can give me some explaination.
My question is:
in executing onMessageExchange method does start another thread or not?
My problem is that when a topic deliver messages to 
the same bean some of them get lost.
I have already written a message on saturday if somebody want 
a deep understanding of my application.
