Can't create cluster in CS 4.2

Hello CloudStack community,

Could you please help found source of following issue and how to fix it.
I am tring to configure CloudStack 4.2 (installed from cloudstack repo
baseurl=http://cloudstack.apt-get.eu/rhel/4.2/) with VMware 5.1. During
adding new zone into UI I have got following error:

"Unable to add the external cluster"

We have following networking configuration in vSphere Client:
Standard Switch: vSwitch0
-Virtual Machine Port Group (VM Network) --vmnic0
-VMkernel Port (Management Network)

Standard Switch: vSwitch1
-VMkernel Port (Storage1) --vmnic2

Re: Can't create cluster in CS 4.2

Posted by Denis Finko <de...@ecommerce.com>.
Ryan, thank you for your advice! It was helpful and I finally added a
Cluster.

In my case traffic labels were:

Public: vSwitch0,3,vmwaresvs
Guest: vSwitch0,3,vmwaresvs
Management Network: vSwitch0,

Storage: vSwitch1,

I have renamed it to:
vSwitch0
vSwitch0
vSwitch0
vSwitch1
and cluster was added.

So it looks like a real bug in CloudStack 4.2 wizard.

Re: Can't create cluster in CS 4.2

Posted by Ryan Lei <ry...@cht.com.tw>.
JIRA ticket: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-4943

I'm encountering the same problem using CloudStack 4.2.0 + VMware 5.0.
Trapped for a day.
I just found a potential bug causing this. I have commented in JIRA.

Basically the Advanced Zone wizard now automatically appends VMware traffic
labels to appear like:

[Public] vSwitch0,,vmwaresvs
[Guest] vSwitch0,,vmwaresvs
[Management] vSwitch0,
[Storage] vSwitch1,

Thus, CloudStack cannot match the same virtual switches on vCenter.
The wizard cannot go all the way to the last step. You have to manually
rename these labels in
Zone -> Physical Network, and add the remaining primary/secondary storages
later.

Can you or someone else confirm this? Is this auto-renaming a bug?
