Dynamic DTD

My XML file does not have a DTD. I would like to dynamically introduce a DTD
to validate against.
Is there a mechanism to do this in the parser.

Also I have a scenario where my DTDs are located in some local location
which may differ for each machine. Can I by some way attach the correct
directory to the DTD while parsing.
