   Out of my mind i was thinking to the same way LoggingSupport is done: string.format with all possible params (gav, etc) and then user relies on %x. Alternatively maven interpolation would work well.
   
   The where to put this config if we want it directly is open: cli options, project/module/settings,  property, other...
