[Bug 2930] New: alphanumeric matching

http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2930

           Summary: alphanumeric matching
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: current-CVS
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P5
         Component: Rules
        AssignedTo: spamassassin-dev@incubator.apache.org
        ReportedBy: robert@accettura.com

Since many spammers are starting to use punctuation (as mentioned in several
articles on spam recently), perhaps the following would be useful

remove all non-alphanumeric chracters, and convert popular alternatives to their
alphanumeric alternatives hence:
Get X(a)n@x, Val(u)m, V|@gra, Som(a) Diet Pills Many Meds. DhH0MD8
Get Xanax, Valium, Viagra, Soma Diet Pills Many Meds. DhH0MD8

That would help eliminate the ability for spammers to use punctuation, and
different characters as a way to bypass spam filters:

\/ = V
| = I
@ = A
$ = S
etc.

That would prevent spammers from being able to use punctuation to defeat
SpamAssassin.
