The rc1 package is essentially equivalent to an svn checkout that you
build by yourself.
The dev@ team is currently voting on the official 1.4 release.

Jukka,
Are these binaries as safe to use as downloading from svn??? I assume so.
If they are I think I will use them until an official rc1 comes out. What
do you think?

Note that this is *not* an official release. It's only meant for testing.
An official production-ready release will be available soon, see the
dev@ list for details. The release will be announced in an [ANNOUNCE]
message also on this list.
