Invoking a cocoon pipeline from a java method call

Hi all,

I am new to cocoon.

Is there a way to invoke a cocoon pipeline programmatically? ie through a
java function call. What I want to is have a program that can read a java
bean object (not text or XML), transform it, and serialize it. Ideally I'd
like to bind a cocoon service to JNDI and call it from EJBs in an App
Server. Has anyone done anything like this, or am I trying to use it in a
way that it was not designed. Am I better off not using cocoon, and just
writing my own XALAN utility? Is there a command line tool?

Thanks for any help,

John Felten
