Forrest Friday - January 2006

13 January starting at 06:00 Greenwich Mean Time.
See the calendar for your time zone.
http://forrest.apache.org/forrest-friday.html

We will use conventional IRC. The main communication
medium is still the dev mailing list.

The channel name will be announced on the day.

The topic is to finish locationmap, clean up Jira,
prioritise issues for next release, Dispatcher docs.

So the start time is about 30 hours away.

If anyone has trouble setting up an SVN client
or connecting to the channel, then just ask on
this dev mailing list.

There are some tips at:
http://forrest.apache.org/forrest-friday.html

It is slow at the moment so you are not missing anything.
Late in USA, early in Europe.

A live log is available at:

I'll post the stats after the day is over.

Thx, it is an important one and a derby as well. ;-)

If you are there, can you coordinate the pelt contract rewritting? You
are probably the most qualified one because you wrote the original
contracts and are one of the most active dispatcher developer. :)

I will be there as well only partly since I have a basketball league
match that day.

Like all of us you do what you can and what you want to. It's supposed
to be fun, if you feel pressured the fun goes away - unless you mean you
are sorry you are missing the fun ;-).

I'm not sure how much time I will spend myself on IRC, but I'll definitely
leave the bot running. I'm really sorry about not participating for a while
now -- I was in India for a month and have just got back. I'm still swamped
with work and still trying to catch up with all the unread mails on the
dev/commit/user lists :( Just too much to page in!

Thanks to Gavin too for getting things started.
It comes around so quickly.

I will be there for the start, then away for some hours,
then back for another stint.

The same semi-automation of the log as last time.
If Diwaker or Cheche is around, then they might also
have a logger bot (the up-to-date logfile is good).

Thanks David. As ever, I will be around on and off during the day (more
on than off this time, although I am babysitting in the AM (GMT).
